Amsterdam - Sentinels, a Fenergo company and Europe’s leading intelligent transaction monitoring and client risk management platform, announces the continued expansion of its leadership team with the appointment of Christian Roberts to the role of Chief Product Officer (CPO).
As CPO, Christian will focus on building out the Sentinels platform in line with the company’s rapid growth and expanding client footprint, both in fintech and with traditional financial institutions. By applying advanced detection techniques and customer-focused product design, Sentinels helps financial institutions dramatically improve their detection of money laundering and other suspicious transactions while also significantly increasing operational efficiency. Sentinels has grown its client base from a single Dutch payment service provider in 2019 to over 30 financial institutions across Europe, now supported by a team of over 100 people.
“As the Sentinels customer base grows, so do the opportunities to develop and scale our platform,” comments Christian. “The Sentinels team is committed to continuously innovating and simplifying the workflows within the platform while, at the same time, broadening the insights our clients can gain from the data flowing through the system. As we grow, we have a terrific opportunity to connect clients together to share insights and leading practice. These are just some of the areas I’ll be focusing on in the coming months.”
Christian brings twenty years of financial services industry experience, spanning product, technical assurance, delivery and business analysis roles, including in the field of financial crime. He has previously held both senior consulting and corporate positions at fintechs and traditional financial institutions, working at Ernst & Young, Lloyds Banking Group, American Express, and was formerly the Chief Architect at Barclaycard, and VP of Products at Worldremit.
Joost van Houten, CEO, Sentinels, comments: “Only with novel approaches will we achieve our goal to help financial institutions to create a world without crime. We need to keep challenging the status quo and change behaviors in the industry, and great product management plays an instrumental role there. That’s why we’re thrilled to have Christian join us; he shares our passions and brings an invaluable depth of product experience to the team. I’m delighted to welcome him on board.”
