London: Decentralised blockchain protocol Minima has today announced that it is 1 of 11 global start-ups that have been chosen to create innovative mobility solutions with industry leaders in Vehicle and mobile communication through MobilityXlab.
MobilityXlab works closely with world-leading industry mobility partners: CEVT, Ericsson, Polestar, Veoneer, Volvo Cars, Volvo Group & Zenseact. Their representatives are involved in every part of the process, from screening new applicants to leading the collaboration programs. In addition, to be invited into the program, a start-up needs to be selected by at least two of its industry partners, which reinforces knowledge sharing and increases the outcomes for Proof-Of-Concept (PoC) and validation projects.
Starting in August, Minima will partner with the leaders in mobility solutions to create Vehicle-2-Vehicle communication. During the program, Minima will demonstrate a decentralised network of globally connected devices / cars benefiting from the security of the Layer1 distributed across all participating nodes. This will allow cars to be autonomous economic units, with guaranteed security of data. The Peer-2-Peer network of connected node also allows chat and communication features for users for messaging and information. With cars running nodes also paves the way for rewards, sharing and loyalty programs.
Since MobilityXlab was launched in 2017, 80 start-ups have been part of MobilityXlab with 12 commercial contracts or partnerships reached after its 6-month program.

The car industry is changing from people owning their own vehicles to a renting economy - so with that comes a need for the car industry to generate value from cars such as ride sharing, car rental and charging. MInima’s technology will be able to fulfill the growing need for immutable and censorship resistant transfer of mission critical data alongside rapid and cheap Vehicle-2-Vehicle communication.
